Lance is a great guitar instructor. His skype lessons have allowed me
to grow much quicker as a guitar player in half the amount of time
devoted to each lesson. The recording/playback ability of skype
lessons, combined with Lance's ability to teach any genre of music at
any level or speed really makes it easy to improve and enjoy the
process. I would recommend Lance's skype lessons to any level
guitarist, and feel that the scheduling flexibility that the skype
lessons allow for make them ideal to learn the guitar at your own pace.

Lance and I shared a common passion before we had ever met. Lance enjoys playing Batson guitars and I am as passionate as he is about them. Being a Northeast representative for such a fine acoustic instrument as the Batson also meant that I play them well. I realized that lessons were necessary.
Lance’s reputation as a finger-picking style guitarist is renowned; however, I was a little intimidated by taking online guitar lessons through Skype. Now, I would not have it any other way. I am not tied down to a lesson in one location, the lessons are just as personal as having him in my living room and the only weekly interruption would be if I have traveled to a location that lacks an internet connection.
Lance teaches as well as he plays. His extensive experience gives him insight into my limitations, which he addresses in an instinctive, non-threatening way. The exercises and lessons are pleasant, yet challenge and elevate me to a better playing level.
I do not know how I could have such expert lessons without the aid of the internet, since there are few expert guitarists that teach, let alone play as well as Lance in my area.

He knows how to break down the lessons in a clear manner and is very helpful with any questions or concerns.
If needed, he would write the lessons out for you very quickly for practice and reference.
Plus, he is a fingerpicking genius and that I like.

I have played guitar off and on over the last 20 years but was never able to get to the level of skill I wanted on my own. Lance's flexibility, wide range of experience, and knowledge of music theory gave him the ability to adapt to my needs. I had a specific goal: Take the melody of a hymn and weave a simple, finger-style harmony around it. He was able to get me on path of instruction that quickly achieved my goal.

Lance is an incredibly talented guy. He sent me videos on how to play Return To Pooh Corner and figured out the song note for note. I searched for years looking for someone to teach me this song.Lance made it look like a piece of cake ! He'll definitely do more songs for me soon.

Lance made my 7-yr old feel comfortable right away. He made me comfortable, too, by allowing me to stay for the lessons and see how she was progressing and know what was expected of her for practice. He made learning music notes, chording and rythym simple for a complete beginner. The required material was appropriate and actually a lot of fun. She loves playing along with the CD.

Lance is an incredibly talented guitarist and fantastic instructor. My son has made great progress under his direction. The best thing is that the students have some input on what they are interested in learning so it makes it fun and interesting...which keeps them engaged, while they learn the basics which is also very important.
